Training Course Information

When can I start the course?

Once your payment has cleared you will receive an enrolment letter via email from the Office of the ET&C Registrar which will confirm your programme details including course duration and planned end date. Please make sure that all the information on the enrolment letter is accurate, as failure to do so may result in your programme being delayed.

Your registration for this qualification will be processed with the Awarding Body within the next 7 – 14 working days. Once the registration process is complete, ET&C will arrange for your study materials to be delivered (this can take a further 10 – 20 working days).

During this time your personal tutor will introduce themselves, and keep you up-to-date thereafter. They will be your main point of contact with ET&C from this point on, and any enquires can be directed to them. They will also send you a copy of the “ET&C Handbook: A Guide for Learners”.

If you do not hear from us within 5 working days, please email Customer Service with your order information.

Who are CMI?

The Chartered Management Institute (CMI) is a professional body in the UK, with over 90,000 members dedicated to promoting the highest standards in management and leadership excellence. They are the only chartered body in the UK that awards management and leadership qualifications.

ET&C works in partnership with CMI to provide a range of professional qualifications in the areas of:

  • Management and Leadership
  • Coaching and Mentoring
  • Professional Consultancy and Business Support

To see our full range of CMI professional programmes, please visit our portfolio of qualifications.

How long will the course take?

The estimated course length differs depending on the qualification. The length of time also varies depending upon the time you can commit to studying. A basic guide:

Award:    6 – 8 weeks

Certificate:    18 – 24 weeks

Diploma:    6 – 18 months

Extended Diploma:    12 – 18 months

Who will be my Tutor?

Your tutor will be an experienced member of staff who will introduce themselves after your course payment has cleared. They will be available via email or telephone, as needed, to guide you through the qualification and to answer any course related questions you may have.

If you are taking the course in a corporate setting, then it will be one teacher for a small group of learners and you will get to meet your tutor in person.

Are qualifications available outside of the United Kingdom?

Yes. Individuals and companies can take advantage of our provision, as long as access is available to the Internet, and the people using our services have a good grasp of the English language.

All of our qualifications are delivered and assessed in English.

Do qualifications provide professional recognition?

We work in partnership with both the Chartered Management Institute (CMI) and the Institute of Consulting (IC), this means that our qualifications are not only recognised from a UK academic awarding body, but from a professional institute as well.

How much support will I receive from my tutor?

Our service provision is tailored to suit you; this means that we support you as much, or as little, as you require. You are free to contact your dedicated tutor as needed, and will be given their email address and telephone number, which means that guidance and support can be provided at a time to suit you, including evenings and weekends.

Will I receive a qualification certificate?

Yes. Once you have successfully completed the qualification programme, and all of the quality checks have been made, you will receive a formal qualification certificate issued by the professional awarding body who oversee the programme.

Is there recommended reading for the programmes?

Yes. We have put together suggested reading lists for each qualification. Each programme has a selection of Key Texts (one of which you will receive from ET&C as part of your course material), and Further Reading which will build knowledge in the wider field.

Please visit the Suggested Reading section of the website for more information. This section of our website offers suggestions, via Amazon (UK), which may supplement your knowledge and understanding of topic areas relating to our training courses, professional development, and website content. However, these materials are not intended to be seen as required resources for our services.
